GM everyone. Today I am going to talk about Republic day.
This year we are celebrating our 69th independence day. This is a great occasion for all of us to remind the importance of this day.
We all know that India got independence from british rule on 15th august 1947.
After getting independence, India was not a self governing country. India became a self-governing Democratic country, when its constitution came into effect on Jan 26th 1950.
So we celebrate Jan 26th as Republic day every year.
India is a democratic country means the people of this country is the ruler. Every one of us has equal rights to become prime minister or chief minister when the people vote for them.
Our Constitution was drafted by the Constituent Assembly (389 members). It took around three years to be written. The Constitution was formed under the Chairmanship of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Some important members were Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Rajendra Prasad, Sarojini Naidu, Vijayalakshmi Pandit, etc.
India s constitution is the largest in the world. We have to be proud of our constitution makers.
Republic day is celebrated in the honour of the constitution makers.
Dr. Rajendra Prasad became the first President of India on Jan 26th 1950.
Republic day is celebrated all over India. A series of events are organized in the national and state capitals. The events include lighting of Government buildings for a week, a grand parade from Rashtrapati Bhavan by the three wings of armed forces, performances by tribal and folk groups.
It displays the unity in diversity in India.
We need to take a pledge today for solving problems in our society and to make our country the best country of the world.
Thank you! Jai Hind!
